Oakville MLS Real Estate

New to town? Allow us to give you the lowdown on Oakville MLS Real Estate!

Nestled between the larger city of Mississauga, and the smaller town of Burlington, the Town of Oakville is set on the shores of Lake Ontario to the south west of Toronto. It’s one of the Greater Toronto Area’s most popular suburban towns, blending a mix of historic homes with new homes and condos. It’s family-friendly with great schools, spacious parks, and plenty of recreation, yet its proximity to Toronto makes Oakville a great alternative for young professionals and those who are seeking more affordable housing options.

So what are the housing options in town, and how affordable is Oakville MLS real estate?

Well, like any town Oakville has its exclusive neighbourhoods; there’s Morrison, for example, with its spacious lots and custom-built luxury homes. You can expect to see homes sell for $800k and upwards in Oakville’s Morrison neighbourhood. This isn’t the exception though; Oakville has several other exclusive neighbourhoods where homes usually sell for well into the millions – prices in South East Oakville are elevated because of the lakefront location, while Joshua Creek is a little more on the affordable side of expensive for its detached family homes!

Speaking of family homes you’ll find a mix of more affordable family homes in all corners of Oakville, and with so many excellent schools in the town this is a great place to raise a family. Popular family-oriented neighbourhoods include West Oak Trails, River Oaks Community, Glen Abbey, and Coronation Park.

A search on Oakville MLS real estate will also reveal that the town has a number of new communities being built as the town keeps up with increasing demand. Lakeshore Woods is a brand new waterfront community that’s aimed at professionals and families with its luxury homes, some with lake views, or you can buy condos or townhomes in the new Oak Park developments. Bronte Creek is another new community where detached homes and townhomes rub shoulders.

Old Oakville has an eclectic mix of architecture, including historic homes from the Victorian era and Brownstone architecture, though this isn’t just a neighbourhood loved by those who appreciate period features – there are modern and luxurious waterfront condos, hi-rise condos, and townhomes here too, and with shopping and entertainment on your doorstep this is a popular neighbourhood with young professionals. All in all Oakville MLS real estate is broad and varied and should appeal to buyers with many different price points and desires.
